Our Trespasses is about three months old now, and things are going well. We sold out the first printing in less than one month. I’ve spoken at several dozen events now and gotten great engagement with the book. I’m so grateful to all of you who have helped that to happen.
I’m especially thankful to paid subscribers to this Substack. Y’all kept me afloat for a little while, and you still make a big difference in my ability to continue writing.
I’ve kept all of the posts open to all subscribers, with the plan to offer a couple of events to paid ones. The first of those quickly came together this morning. Details below the paywall.
Upcoming talks and sermons: I’d love to see you at one of these events.
Sunday, June 2, 10AM, preaching at Watershed Church. Available on their Facebook page as well.
Sunday, June 23, 11AM, preaching at First United Methodist in Charlotte.
Sundays, June 16, June 30, and Jul 14, 5:30-7:30pm, with Holy Comforter Episcopal Book Group. This group is open to the public, they’ll supply you with a free copy of the book, and there’s a nice supper before each session. Register here. Facilitated by Charlotte legend Beth Hardin.
Friday and Saturday, July 12-13 at Wild Goose Festival.
Sunday, July 21 at Providence Presbyterian Church, 9:30AM.
Fall Tours (need help!):
I’ll be presenting at the Christian Community Development Association conference in Portland, Oregon, October 3-4, and preaching at Fremont United Methodist on October 6. I’m hoping to add some evening events those days, or possibly to extend the trip out a day or two on either side to stay in that region. If you can make some introductions to churches, bookstores, community centers, or wherever, let me know.
I’m on tour with the book Oct. 20-25 in the Northeast Corridor. We have dates confirmed in DC, Baltimore, and Philadelphia, but still have some space for a Capital region appearance Oct 21, and for several days in the NYC area Oct 24-25 (and beyond). Again, introductions are welcome.
I’ll leave free subscribers here, with the acknowledgement that I’ve been quiet lately as I’m learning my way through a new job with The Redress Movement, but I’ve got two new pieces in the works.
Paid subscribers, here are the details for the special event:
